Management

Membership of the Institute for Genomics & Systems Biolology (IGSB) reflects the collaborative nature of the Institute between the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory, the broad range of perspectives necessary for the investigation of complex biological systems and the interdisciplinary focus of the Institute.

Director. The IGSB Director is Dr Kevin White who is responsible for managing the Institute, allocating its resources, and reporting to the University and Argonne on the activities of the IGSB and its membership.

Associate Director. The IGSB Associate Director is Dr. Folker Meyer who is responsible for supporting the Institute and reporting to Argonne on the activities of the IGSB and its membership. [website]

Research Director. The IGSB Research Director is Dr. Aharon Solomon who coordinates the Institute's administration and facilities, responsible for directing research activities for the Institute and managing collaborative research in the Chicago Center for Systems Biology (CCSB).

Education & Outreach Director. The IGSB Education & Outreach Director is Dr. Barry Aprison who develops and oversees academic programs on campus through the auspices of the Chicago Center for Systems Biology (CCSB) and the Ph.D program in Genetics, Genomics and Systems Biology (GGSB).

Administrative assistant. The IGSB Administrative assistant is Ms. Liza Herendeen who is responsible for IGSB frontline communication, scheduling, events, ordering, payments and grants information.

Executive Advisory Committee. The Committee is made up of senior faculty and scientists from the University and Argonne who direct the Institute's development and research focus.

Core Members.The IGSB will house 9 to 10 core faculty members in genomics and systems biology at the University and several scientists at Argonne who will take the lead in promoting and fulfilling IGSB mission goals.

Fellows. Faculty and scientists at the University and Argonne are invited to join the IGSB as Fellows. Researchers at other Chicago institutions are also eligible to become Associate Fellows of the Institute.
